Solution | ICP-MS detects Al, As, Ba, Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Mn and other elements in water

Release Date :2025-03-24

Water is an indispensable resource in human life, but with industrialization and population growth, the problem of water pollution is becoming more and more serious. Among them, the pollution of metal elements poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. Many areas rely on groundwater or surface water as drinking water sources. If these water sources are polluted by metal elements, it may cause drinkers to suffer from various health problems. Through the detection of metal elements in water bodies, pollution sources in the environment can be detected and monitored at an early stage. This helps to take corresponding measures to reduce or eliminate the discharge of pollutants, thereby protecting the health of the natural environment and ecosystems. In recent years, ICP-TOFMS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry) has shone in the field of water quality testing and has been widely used in the analysis of samples such as drinking water, surface water, industrial wastewater, domestic water and seawater. ICP-TOFMS can accurately determine the content of these elements in water samples, and judge whether it exceeds the safety limit according to national standards. This is of great significance for protecting human health and environmental safety. In this paper, inductively coupled plasma time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ICP-TOFMS) was used to determine Al, As, Ba, Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Mn and other elements in water. The method has good repeatability and high accuracy, and can be used for reference by relevant personnel. Attachment Download
